It’s not too late to sign President Obama’s online birthday card and wish him a happy 51st birthday. Amid the hype and the hashtag games, though, the Brian Terry Foundation and its supporters hope that another August birthday won’t be overlooked.

Brian Terry's Birthday should trend all week. MT @marychastain: Hey, Could you mention Brian Terry's birthday card? http://t.co/wSSehDhj

Terry, a U.S. Border Patrol agent who was killed along the Arizona/Mexico border in December 2010, would have turned 42 on August 11. Two guns found at the scene of Terry’s murder were traced back to the Justice Department’s “Fast and Furious” gun-running operation. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released the first part of its report on the botched program on Tuesday.

Brian Terry and Barack Obama were born a few days apart. It's funny how different their lives turned out to be. Service and vain-glory #tcot
