Colo. gov. signs gun-grabbing bills; Coloradans lament assault on 2nd Amendment!/michellemalkin/status/314397664991117313

This morning, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper made good on his promise and signed gun control legislation into law. The new laws will expand background checks, impose background check fees, and set a 15-round limit on ammunition magazines.

Confirmed: all three #GunControl bills have been signed by @hickforco. #COleg

To Hickenlooper and Colorado Democrats, the Second Amendment is evidently just an outdated concept. But gun rights advocates don’t see it that way, and they’re taking this assault on their constitutional rights very seriously:

@9news @brandonrittiman @hickforcoto bad applause from politicians does not equal approval from the citizens

@elistokols @hickforcoSad day in Colorado and Constitutional history. Just because you can, doesn’t make it right.

@elistokols @hickforco has officially lost the confidence of ME and the #MAJORITY of Colorado Citizens! #COleg #COlegFAIL

Sad day in co. Our rights just have been violated. The Bill of Rights means nothing now as it is being destroyed 1×1 by #coleg n @hickforco

— Frankster (@MystikalAznEpic) March 20, 2013

By Dems admission, new #guncontrol in CO will not prevent next tragedy. What is Dem machine spinning-up to leverage the next one? #COLeg

CO officially marginalizing those who practice a safe, responsible firearms lifestyle. #COleg #guncontrol…

This won’t be forgotten @hickforco. What a sad day for our #2a rights.

With this stunt, Hickenlooper could find himself facing a steep uphill reelection battle:

Landmark #cogungrab bills signed. Shame on @hickforco for letting NY take over.Keep our eyes on 2014.…

— Douglas County GOP (@DougCOGOP) March 20, 2013

@kyleclark @ivanjourno @hickforco #HIGHfive your way out of #CO and the #GovOffice #FAIL #COlegFAIL

— John Pagel (@TheRealPagel) March 20, 2013

@hickforco the citizens of Colorado will be demanding your resignation for breaking your oath to defend and protect the constitution

Time to start the #recall efforts against @hickforco and all the @cosendem ‘s who are working for big government and not #WeThePeople

@hickforco Good luck with a second term bucko.Gun control is where political careers go to die. #COleg

@hickforco #iwillnotcomply you have overstepped your authority & deliberately trashed the constitution. I vow to make sure you’re voted out.

— Paul Prosise (@PaulProsise) March 20, 2013

.@hickforco Hickenlooper celebrates the birth of the GOP in 1854 (today in history) by stripping Coloradoans of our constitutional rights.

On guns: @senatorbrophy: “whether I run or not, I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that @hickforco is not re-elected.”

— Brandon Rittiman (@BrandonRittiman) March 20, 2013

@hickforco at least the next election you will be unemployed. #gunrights #magban #magpul

— Otis Bentley (@OtisBentley1) March 20, 2013

Earlier this week, Boulder-based gun accessories manufacturer Magpul confirmed its plans to leave Colorado if the ban on high-capacity magazines went through.

Get your mags now. @hickforco just turned us into criminals. Sorry to see you go @magpul_hq. We will always support you. #war #magban

— Matt Cramer (@fortyfootmusic) March 20, 2013

“@hickforco: Job growth is up.”What will happen to job growth when @magpul_hq pulls out of CO?

— John Baker (@JohnFromCO) March 20, 2013

But Magpul won’t be the only business affected by the new laws:

Remember: It’s not just @magpul_hq leaving thnx to CO #magban. Suppliers, subcontractors, adios==>…

— Michelle Malkin (@michellemalkin) March 20, 2013

Weld County Sheriff John Cooke, knowing full-well that these laws are ridiculous, has already said he won’t enforce them. Will others follow his lead?
