Former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford has won the Republican nomination for a seat in the House, and his former mistress (and current fiancée) was on hand to congratulate him. She’s been described as a “very private person,” but there’s no chance of maintaining that status during the upcoming showdown with Elizabeth Colbert Busch.

a public endorsement from Jenny would be even more helpful, though. we might be waiting a while for that one.

Groan … we were tired of this circus before it even started, and the clown car driven by Stephen Colbert is just getting revved up.

Ditto. MT @clericalgal A choice between an adulterer & a woman riding on her famous brother’s coattails? Glad I don’t live in that district.

Let’s hope Mark Sanford is more faithful to South Carolina voters.
